One of the biggest arguments against public health measures during the COVID 19 pandemic is the economic impact of lockdown or distancing. The proponent of strong intervention argues that it is not the intervention, but the fear of the disease that shuts down the economy, and by squashing the disease, we can achieve a better economic outcome.
